Ordering a class is easy and Pay Pal Verified.  PayPal is the safest way to order over the internet.  Simply click on "The Shoppe" link to the left and order the class as if you were ordering a product. You can order through PayPal even if you don't have a Pay Pal account. Follow the steps and be sure to fill in the "International Air" shipping bubble.  The classes will be emailed to you - therefore you won't be needing a shipping charge. After the payment clears, I will send a supply list and class instructions  in PDF form via email.  The classes are broken up into lessons,  usually 2 lessons for the mini classes and up to 6 lessons for the more involved classes.  You will receive detailed  (and I do mean DETAILED) instructions and lots of pictures to help you along. You can download the lessons and work on them on your own time, whenever you want to.

Even though the classes can be completed by you at your own pace, we will have a password protected Yahoo Class Forum opening on a specific date. This is where class participation will take place.  You do not have to participate in the forum.  It's just a great place to ask questions and share your projects, ideas, and photos.

It's so convenient and perfect for people who can't get out much or for those of you who are just too busy to attend classes in person. My classes have been filled with students from the UK, France, Australia, Germany, and Canada.  It's so interesting to share ideas and a love of art with people from all over the world. If you're on the fence about online classes, I urge you to sign up and just give it a try.  My mini classes are inexpensive and lots of fun.

I highly recomend a high speed internet service for class participation and downloads of all materials.  I can send the classes via snail mail to dial up students but again, it might be difficult to participate in the forum if you have dial up service or a slow connection. You must also have Adobe Reader 5 or higher in order to download the class instructions.  If you would like to install a free Adobe Reader program, simply click on this link and follow the easy instructions. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
Please make sure you have basic computer skills as I will not be able to help you dowhload the classes, save the classes, etc. I will however, be here to guide you through the lessons step by step and hopefully will inspire your artistic muse.

The following class is open until the end of November and will repeat at Joggles in 2009.  There were some of you who desperately wanted to take the class after it had closed so I opened ot here especially for those of you who couldn't wait until next year.  Enjoy!

"Enchanting Encaustics"
November 5   $38.00

Join me in this very special “online only” encaustic art class.  Learn several of my techniques for working with true encaustic tools such as colored and clear waxes and an encaustic iron.  Although similar to the techniques in my “Wild About Wax” article in the Dec/Jan 2007 Stamper’s Sampler, these techniques have been reconstructed to fit the needs of the online student. You may use collage images or photocopies of your children, grandchildren, or loved ones. Discover the joys of this fascinating age old medium.

Week 1:  I will introduce you to some of the history behind encaustics and the basic skills needed for application.  Create beautiful focal point pieces ready to frame, make into greeting cards, or use in your collage work and mixed media art.

Week 2: In week 2 we will focus on “playing with color.” Delve into the world of color combination and balance, freeform shaping of the wax, and easy design work as you learn several techniques to liven up your encaustic art.

Week 3: This class is an exciting one and you will be creating a gorgeous 8 x 10 canvas using all the techniques you have learned in the previous lessons. Combine images of children, butterflies, flowers, and fairies to make childhood fantasies come alive in wax.
